Welcome to the Christmas Tour 2011 at At Home With K!
This year is simple yet comfortable and country. As you look though the photos, you will notice I love to add thrift finds, antiques and handmades throughout our home.

Let's start outside. I wish there was a fresh coat of snow for an awesome backdrop to my photos but no, it's been rainy for the last few days so our snow is gone for the meantime.
One of my favorite things outside is my old fence. I picked it up at a craft fair probably for $10-super cheap. The lathe star I made many moons ago. And the chippy white chair was a 50 cent garage sale find this summer.
A regular wreath spruced up with homespun fabric, bells and $1 bin Target ornaments.
My husband's childhood sled. My MIL gave this to me when we first got married and she added the greenery, rafia, homespun and 'Let It Snow'.
A mini tree with little strips of homespun tied to the branches. Add and old bucket and $5 old door to help make the entrance more welcoming.
I don't think I ever showed my cool wagon/wheelbarrow that I snagged at a flea market this year. It was made from on eldery man from old barn wood and old parts. It fits in great with our landscaping. I change it out seasonly. For winter I added some greenery, an old $1 box, a birdhouse I made and a bench my mom made.

We received this great beadboard shelf from my brother and his family for our wedding. It's fun to change out the decor on it thoughout the year. The pillow and Santa sign made by bloggy friends. The string of peppers I received from my MIL for Christmas. They're from her garden and remind us of her especially during the winter months when her and her husband go to Mexico for R&R. This year though, it is New Mexico. It adds that splash of Christmas red.
Before I made crafts, my husband bought me this wonderful saltbox house (overpriced). But it's still a favorite. :) I love my old crocks and bowls that I have gotten as gifts or next to nothing.
We love our Nativity Scene. It's nothing fancy but we like it. You can usually find Mary, Joseph or Baby Jesus on a toy train or playing with legos when my 4 year old gets a hold of them. I think I saw Joseph flying around like a super hero the other day. :)

I love my hubby. A fun photo we took on my first hunting trip last year. :)
Last year's Santa photo. So sad my now 8 year old doesn't 'believe' anymore. :( Anyone else have that problem with their children this year? Breaks my heart.
Another favorite crock bowl filled with 50 cent thrift store ornaments, pincones and wooden candy canes (that I didn't make).

I tried something different this year and hung the stockings from the fireplace screen. I think I like it!

How simple to add greenery and pincones to an old jar. Homespun fabric and rustic bells added for a little jingle cheer!
A fun garage sale sled from the 1950's that I scored for $5. I made the simple banner out of ripped muslin fabric. I stenciled on the letters and after it was dry I soaked it in tea to give it an aged look.
$1 crock with more 50 cent vintage thrift store ornaments. Those ornaments went a long way. :)
My 50 cent garage sale stool. I made the Christmas blocks a few years ago. The trees are from Hobby Lobby. I bought them unfinished on sale and painted them myself. The cute snowman is from a bloggy friend.

Are you tired of my crocks and bowls? LOL Here's another displayed on my coffee table. I added greenery, pinecones and fabric balls I made a long time ago. I then placed it in the middle of a berry wreath. Why always hang wreaths on the wall?
My felt poinsettia tree.
I kept the tree really simple this year and just decorated it with the felt poinsettias and 2 pearl garlands.
My sons each have a tree in their rooms for their personalized and homemade ornaments with colored lights...not with these boring white lights. :)
