A WONDERFUL GET A-WAY

There are times we get away that are fun and there are times that are memorable and this was a great memorable time away visiting my brother and his wife Gail along with our sister. We did this because it was our sister Shirley’s birthday.

I had mentioned earlier that we were going to their place for 3 days and taking in a dinner/theater show that was absolutely terrific. If you ever get a chance to see FOREVER PLAID do so! And the dinner was just delicious.

After the show we went to the Crafter's Mall at the Dells and I can’t say enough how great this mall is - not sure how many booths are there but enough to tire you out before you are done looking.

I have a favorite booth I like to visit and I WAS NOT disappointed as usual. I’ll post pictures later this week when I get them out.

None of us were real hungry for dinner that night so Gail had made homemade Vegetable Beef Soup with that thought in mind and it was the best choice. I don’t think we would have done justice to anything bigger.

Friday was a full day of going to the little town of Tomah shopping and Antiquing.
I found a few old bottles that I will put the old labels on and a few things in one of the little shops. We were going to go to a very nice dinner club that night near where we were shopping but we finished up around 2:00 pm and couldn’t find anything to keep us busy for 3 more hours so headed back to their place (about an hour away) and headed for an out of the way bar and had the most wonderful bar hamburgers. A far cry from the planned dinner club! LOL

Then we headed back home on Saturday afternoon in time for my sister to enjoy her birthday with her family.

Then today Doug and I went to our sons place because our granddaughter Emily turned 11 - so more celebrating for us! We had lots of wonderful snacks and a great confetti cake. HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMILY!

Oh, and the Hickory Nut Cake….we never ate it! Who had time! And….Doug and I tried it before we left and I must say the flavor was wonderful and it looked great but it was very dry - a huge disappointment for sure!

So that’s my weekend and I will take tonight relaxing and reading a book. I received orders this week and one is finished and the others I will start tomorrow but right now I need to just chill!
Photos of my great purchases will be posted later this week.
