Monday Nook

Look at this gorgeous laundry! Oh the blue! How do I find a blue like that? I love the tapware... kitchen-ish. I am going to do that next time... kitchen taps in my laundry.

School holidays here. I'm putting him to work in the shed. #motheroftheyear

Happy Monday!

Monday Nook

A beautiful bathroom nook, by Tiffany Eastman Interiors, this morning.

Look at all that natural light... perfect for a 'makeup nook'. I love the marble and mirrored mix... and that glorious window.

So elegant!

Sort of reminds me of the glamorous bathroom I camped out in for a week on the Upper East Side in NYC. Oh heck, I try to make everything remind me of everything in NYC these days. Someone wears a T-shirt with a NYC logo and I go off with the NYC 'memory fairies'.

Gorgeous! Love the fluffy touch!

I'm off for lunch with some bloggy friends today.... and I won't feel a bit guilty lolling about leisurely lunching..... I worked all weekend!

Happy Monday!

Monday Nook

Today's nook is the Master Bathroom in the Hampton Designer Showhouse, that I visited last month, in Southampton, NY.

The entryway into the bathroom was flanked by these two beautiful hand painted vanities.

Loved the mirrors and the moldings....with the little pink accents.

Of course I looked up! Beautiful!

In the centre of the bathroom, in front of the bath, was a gorgeous hot pink chaise on a gorgeous rug.

It was such a whimsical, elegant, feminine room...
.....with just enough pink to still have a serene air to it all!

What do you think? Could you soak in the tub in this bathroom?

Loved, loved, loved them. Grey and pink perfection.

Had to check out the smallest room.
Delightful.

The tub.
Yeah, I could so do it.
I wanted to get in right there and then, being all sweaty and non glamorous (with bike helmet hair) from my bike ride from Southampton to Water Mill.

I thought it was all so positively lovely... right down to the pretty bath petals!

Happy Monday!

Glamour Bathroom

Over the weekend we continued our bathroom renovation, we painted it the softest of blue, with lots of white trim, the taps have been purchased, the glass towel rails that I actually carried home in my luggage from Restoration Hardware in America will finally be installed. I'm on the hunt for two mirrors but we have the most amazing light fitting. I cant believe in Australia how expensive our tapware and accessories are not to mention our lack of choice, its really dumb-founds me how hard it is to source something nice. I would get the accessories sent but unfortunately I dont have enough time, so for now I need to just drool over the beautiful pieces that can be sourced through Restoration Hardware.

When decorating a classic style bathroom I love collecting beautiful glass jars to fill with soaps, bath salts and candles that sit near the bath on a side table, adding the luxury of a velvet or satin ottoman, wallpaper, timber wall panelling and if possible a chandelier to add the glamour.

Calming all white bathroom

Hej hej! Just back in Sweden after a fab ski trip in Chamonix in the French Alpes! First things first, a relaxing bath over-flowing with luscious L'Occitane Lavender bubble bath :)

Sadly, i can't find the original source of this picture (I wish this was my bathroom but it isn't!). I found this image on Pinterest. Anyone know the original source?

I hope you've had a lovely 'Grand weekend!' Bisous!

Random Thoughts On Bathrooms Whilst On Holidays

Isn't this gorgeous? I love 'bath nooks'. I spent last night freeze-framing a movie I was watching just to draw a rough sketch of the beautiful bathroom nook that was featured. I love the cabinetry too. It's nice to see functional cabinetry, something other than just a vanity unit/sink, in a bathroom.
Bathroom food for thought!

The weather down here at the beach has been glorious. We literally spent 4 hours in the ocean this morning. My little one was positively joyous in the waves, reaching out for me when the big ones hit. I have been cherishing our carefree time together. School starts back on Monday so we're savouring every last morsel of these holidays.

I'm off to the casino with friends tonight!
The boys are praying for a 'young and funky' babysitter. They had 'Mrs Doubtfire' last time!

Bath time!

With all the frenzied christmas shopping, decorating, baking etc behind us what we all need now is a little R & R (relaxation & recuperation) before the new year. And, seriously, I'm voting for one of these baths with a roaring fire to keep me cosy.

Bathroom / boudoir dark or light?

Now that the weather's so cold there's nothing like filling a deep bubble bath, and soaking with a book and a glass of wine and then swishing around in a dressing gown. The problem is do you go moody, dark and cocoon like, or pretty, bright and peachy? Here's a mix and match I put together to help decide the vibe!

Do you know what? Although I loooove the black and gold (and it is so very now), I think I lean towards the pretty, romantic white and peach. What about you? The dark or the light? Or perhaps something in between?

Making a splash in the bathroom

Hej and happy Sunday! A perfect day to run a deep bubble bath and escape. Check out these bright and airy bathrooms from Danish magazine RUM. I love the use of prints and vintage furniture and accessories to add some warmth and personality. And THAT beautiful patterned floor from Made a Mano? SWOON! What do you reckon?

Picture: RUM. This Agape bath from Casa Shop has been elongated to make maximum use of space and create a shelf to display some of your favourite things. Just don't over run your bath!

Pop

All it takes is a 'pop' of colour and a rather plain room transforms into 'just gorgeous'.
I'm obsessed with yellow at the moment. Nothing says 'happy' more than yellow, I reckon.

Good morning! Coffee is on. Another lazy school holiday morning. My big boy has been so sick but he is over the worst of it. Took him to hospital yesterday just to be sure. Little one was wringing his hands, "I don't want my brother to die", rabbiting on about swine flu and Hendra virus (I need to temper his news bulletin viewing). He is just so grateful his big brother got the all clear. He is currently lying in his big brother's bed, rubbing his back for him. Heartstrings.

Have a great day.

Towel Envy

Ridiculous I know, but my eye is immediately drawn to the cupboard of beautiful white towels...
....before the rest of the room!
White towel envy.
All it takes... is one red soccer sock.....

That One Picture

You know how, when planning a house, there is that one picture on which you base a whole room? ... well this is it for my next bathroom. It's going to be a breeze, this next place. I have every room sorted now. Just need to find a knock down and a nice builder. Sorted.
