MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM OUR HOME TO YOURS!

I hope you are all enjoying a wonderful Holiday weekend with your loved ones!

I thought I would leave you a couple last minute gift ideas just in case you are still scrambling for ideas for those late Christmas get togethers.

We will be spending time in my hometown with my family. For the last few years, we decided the adults in my family each choose a name for a gift so that we don't have the stress and burden of getting each person a gift. It has worked great! This year is a little different, each gal gets a girl gift and each guy gets a guy gift. Gifts need to be $10 or less. Then somehow we will do a gift exchange.

Since some of my family might read my little blog here, I didn't post what I made to ruin the surprise.

So now it's safe to post, I thought I'd share my gift. It was easy and fun to make. 

I decided to make photo coasters for the gal recipient of my gift along with some Shaklee Hand Soap. I couldn't forget the gift of health! 

The photo coasters included my sons, my nieces and nephew and my cousin's son. On the 4th coaster I added some scrapbook paper and a sticker.

I got these cute tiles for super cheap at Home Depot. I cut the photos down a little smaller than the size of the tile. I applied modge podge directly to the tile and then I placed the photo on top. I then put a heavy book on top of the tile and photo while the modge podge dried. After it was dry, I applied 2 coats of modge podge over the photo...I allowed dry time between each coat. To have super durability, I gave each coaster 3 coats of Clear Spray Sealer. When all dried I added felt pads on all 4 corners on the bottom of each coaster.

The set probably cost around $2 to make. :) Tie with a ribbon and it's ready to gift! I wanted to keep them for myself. Good thing I have extra tile.

And one last gift I wanted to share was Christmas Potpourri in a bag. I got the idea from HERE. I made these for my co-workers. Super easy to whip together with items from your kitchen. Add a tag and a bow and your all set!

Snowflake Candle

I'm going to show you an easy way to dress up an ordinary candle for the holidays.

You can use any kind of jar candle.

I'm showing this candle because this is one of my new "cheap" favorites. You can find Better Homes and Gardens candles at Wal-Mart. I got this big one for $6. They smell wonderful!

Plus they got a cute metal lid.

All you need is a snowflake stencil, paint, stencil brush and glitter.

I found this cute snowflake stencil at Hobby Lobby for $3-full price. You can get it cheaper with your 40% coupon!

On my particular candle the label peeled right off! If you have a hard time removing a label, I heard Goo Gone is really good!

Then all you do is stencil on your snowflake. I mixed some cream and light blue paint together so the snowflakes stood out from the white candle.

While the paint is still wet, add a pile of glitter to the snowflake.

Let it sit on there for a minute or two and then shake off onto a piece of paper. Don't want to waste any glitter. :)

Do this same process all around the jar at random.

Light your candle and enjoy!

A simple embelishment to add to your decor or gift!

I just used basic craft paint and the paint worked fine on glass. My candle will be up and away from hands so I don't have to worry about paint scratching off. If you are worried about that then a simple clear spray sealer would work great! Or there is also glass paint found at your local craft store.

This would work great on any glass container!

Angry Birds INKtaskic T-Shirt Review

It was so easy to customize my boys' shirts! Uploading the photos was fast and easy. And I also added their names. Kids love personalized gifts!

The quality of the shirts and prints are perfect! My boys are going to get a kick out of these when they open them up on Christmas!

Bieber Fever

My niece turned 12 last week. And she's a BIG Justin Bieber FAN!!

 I remember when I was her age being in love with Joey McIntyre from the New Kids On The Block. I had the shirts, doll, posters, videos, magazines, blanket and even a trunk with NKOTB! LOL Oh to be a tween/teen again...

For a fun gift, I whipped up a fun freezer paper shirt with Justin Bieber being the theme.

For the front, I did a simple heart with his initials.

And for the back:

A fun and simple design and she loved it! It cost me less than $2. I also included a gift card for Itunes. So she can listen to Justin Bieber while she's rockin' in her new shirt!
