Busy gal - forgotten purchases – fun times

I totally forgot that I bought two new bowls a couple weeks ago at an estate sale by our house.  It was held the during the same weekend as our rummage sale/craft show but fortunately it started on Friday so we took a bit of time off of setting ours up and went.  Glad we did.  Although we missed getting a gorgeous Maple dining room set – which we don’t need – but the chairs were awesome…very different than anything I’ve ever seen.  I could have sold the table and kept the chairs…but someone had just paid for it!!!

But I did score two antique bowls. One is a smaller one of the one I got a couple months back at a flea market.  Both were $15 each but she gave them to us for $25 total.  Both have a crack in the bottom but being I’m not going to use them that’s just fine by me.
They are the two on the left.

This last Saturday we took a drive to Delafield, WI to take some of my products to a little shop up there called ‘Nooks & Crannys’.  I had met Denise last year in line at the Madison Cash & Carry Wholesale show…she recognized me from my blog and came up to me and asked if I would consider putting some products in her shop.  We have gotten together a few times since.  And she came to my show last week too – I was glad I had ‘LOTS’ of treasures she could use.
Anyway…here she is...and a few pictures of her shop.
(Forgot to take the outside of it – it’s adorable)

Here’s  one of my newer Black Cats Mug Mats I made this week…a special order from a wholesale customer.
Oh…and the Mr. Jack jar toppers are almost gone…I think there are 3 left.
We have a few of the Snowmen ones left.

I also went to a baby shower that day…it was for my nephew (Doug’s sister’s son) and his wife Jessica. They’re expecting their first baby in November.  A little boy.

Again another hot day here…93 this afternoon. And yesterday it was so humid – I checked the gauge and it said 94% humidity. The air was thick.

Fall can not get here soon enough.  I’m tired of looking at Summer flowers – I’m so ready for the rich mellow colors of Fall decor and even outside.

I want to thank all of my blog friends who have joined in on my BLOG CHALLENGE and hope that more of you will as well.

When the due date is here I will make a post with everyone’s link who took the challenge (in case there are some blogs you don’t follow you will be able to read them).

Have a wonderful week.

What To Do With The Trolls?

A few readers emailed me yesterday to tell me how much they love hearing about my life..... and my boys, when I do talk about them here. They said they missed hearing about my boys antics. Yeah, I don't talk about my boys as much here these days. I suppose I have pandered to the 'trolls'.

One says that she is sick of me speaking about my boys as if they are 'perfect'....and that's not the half of her complaints about the way I live my life. Another stalks me on twitter and says the most vile things about my teenage son and his father. 'His'? abusive scripts run very similar to the 'Karen Rogers' stalker material I have been experiencing over the last year (although she has morphed into many anon and international! identities now). Maybe she's roped him in as she wasn't getting anywhere with her own antics (which included calling family services on me and trying to get my boys taken off me).

Why? Who are these people? .. and why does the way I live my life offend them so?

What do we do with them? Do we ignore them. as everyone is preaching, following the horrific Charlotte Dawson experience... or do we out them? I know who mine are. My protective friends have been the best online detectives and have found out everything about them.

"Don't feed the trolls?" By not feeding one of mine, she has resorted to absolutely desperate measures to get to me, to bring me down, to teach me a lesson? Why are these people so interested in seeing me fall?... in my personal life and my work. To be honest, it has changed the way I blog here... whether I consciously admit it or not.

And I am ashamed to say that some of my responses to my trolls have been less than lady like. I have screamed and fought and name-called in my emails back to them. They have made me someone I am not, when fear for my family has gripped me and I have been desperate to identify them and scare them away. Once you have been trolled, you are never the same... this isn't as beautiful a place as it was 5 years ago when we were all friends. My words don't flow as freely here as they used to.

The reason I wrote this short post this morning?... I wanted to talk about my boys and what's happening in my life... but the thought of the troll onslaught stopped me. One is a mother at my boys' school. We're leaving the school next year. As Charlotte Dawson said on 60 Minutes the other night, 'You Win'.

So that's where I'm at, at the moment. You?

Danish knock on wood

In Scandinavia wood floor is obviously a huge part of any interior space. So I am often being asked what type of wood floor to go for, usually a tricky question. But today I think I have the answer - Dinesen. This Danish wood floor company does everything right. The distinctive wide wood planks made from Douglas Fir are simply stunning. And it helps that the spaces are too!

Modern floor, classic, simple, white interior with incredible architect, I'm in love!

This post about wood floors raises the big debate and one I am always battling with as a Brit in Sweden. Swedes are forever asking - why do you have carpets in England? What is your take on wall to wall carpet versus wall to wall wood floor?
